We recently went on our first international girls’ trip together and we had a BLAST! Besides the nerves of going on a “big girls” trip, the anticipation was the most nerve-racking part of the entire experience… until the week of. We spent the entire week frantically packing and making last-minute purchases, trying to make sure we didn’t leave anything behind. As they say, time flies when you’re having fun - before we knew it we were planning our next trip while we were waiting for our flight back home! Here are a few things to keep in mind to help your girls’ trip go smoothly!
1. budget, budget, BUDGET: This can be a post by itself. Traveling can be very expensive. In order to tackle the cost, we suggest planning the trip well in advance and make regularly scheduled payments. Placing some cash in a separate account for spending money is definitely a must! Most importantly, keep in mind that you have to come back home. Set a limit for yourself and spend your money wisely!
2. take safety precautions: Share your location with your family and friends back home. Never ever go anywhere alone! If you must, take your phone with you and make sure whoever you’re traveling with knows exactly where you’re going. If your friend is taking too long, go look for them!
3. pack lightly & accordingly:
-pack lightly: This part is always tricky because you wanna POP out! However, be realistic. We suggest packing two outfits a day with varying pieces. Think of it as a mini closet; you can even share pieces with your friends!
-pack accordingly: Be mindful of the weather! It is important to know the climate in which you will be traveling in and to, dress (in layers if you are traveling to a different climate) and pack accordingly.
4. be kind to the staff: The people go above and beyond to make sure you’re having the greatest experience possible, BE NICE! Learn their names, smile, and engage in conversation. You never know what you might learn. They’re also aware of the best eateries, souvenir shops, and tourist attractions!
5. be open minded and flexible: While vacationing, most things are outside of our realm of control when and comfort zone. Take things with a grain of salt and don’t let a minor inconvenience ruin your experience.
While some romanticize the idea of vacationing with a significant other (there’s nothing wrong with that), we encourage each of you to explore the world with your friends. Reminiscing while creating new memories together is top tier magic. Friendship is so beautiful and quality time fills us up with joy until we meet again!
Blissfully,
tpp
